This Privacy Policy (Privacy Policy) is to help you understand what personal data we collect about you, why we collect it and what we do with it. 

We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal data. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully to understand our practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.

Your personal data is collected by Efiko Academy BV. Our seat is at 1040 Brussels, Rue du Reigersvliet 20, box 7 and registered with the Dutch-speaking enterprise court of Brussels under number 0770.225.233. We are the data controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), responsible for deciding how and why your personal data is used.

3. Sources of personal data

Your personal data is either (a) provided by you; (b) obtained from third parties (e.g. in relation to a B2B service); or (c) created by us during your engagement with us.

4. Personal data collected

We collect, store, and use personal data for various purposes, as outlined below.
If you fail to provide certain personal data when requested, we may not be able to perform all our legal and contractual obligations or carry out certain activities.

It is important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and up to date. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes during your working relationship with us.

4.1. Website

When you visit any of our pages hosted at our https://efiko.academy/, we may collect the following types of personal data:

  • Technical data about the device you are using, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type.

4.2. Providing our services or buying our products

When you use our services or purchase our products, we collect the following types of personal data:

  • Contact name;
  • E-mail address;
  • Country of residence
  • Organisation name (optional);
  • Payment information;
  • Billing information;
  • and any content of correspondence.

4.3. Job applications

If you apply for a job or internship with us, we process the following personal data:

  • Name;
  • e-mail address;
  • phone number;
  • curriculum vitae;
  • references;
  • any other information you provide.

4.4. Special categories of personal data

We do not collect special categories of personal data (e.g., race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, political opinions, information about your health and genetic and biometric data), nor any information about criminal convictions and offences.

5. How we use your personal data

5.1. Purposes

We process your personal data to provide, analyse, administer, enhance and personalize our services and marketing efforts, to process your registration, your orders and your payments and to communicate with you on these and other topics. In more detail, this includes:

  • to resolve disputes; troubleshoot problems; help promote safe matching; collect fees owed; measure consumer interest in services; inform you about offers, products, services, and updates; customize your experience; detect and protect us against error, fraud and other criminal activity; enforce our Terms & Conditions; and as otherwise described to you at the time of collection. We may compare and review your business information for errors, omissions and for accuracy.
  • to send you newsletters and promotions in conjunction with your use of our services. If you do not wish to receive newsletters you may unsubscribe by clicking the unsubscription link in the newsletter e-mail.
  • to realise benchmark analysis and aggregate statistics. This particular business information will be anonymized, will not contain personal identification.


Moreover, we collect the IP Addresses to track when you use our website. We use IP Addresses to monitor the regions from which you navigate our website and sign-up to use our services in order to estimate the total number of users visiting our website from specific countries or regions of the world.

We do not transfer, sell or rent your business information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We request only the information that we need to operate our services and improve our website’s user experience.

5.2. Legal grounds

When we process your personal data, we need a legal basis to do so. This legal basis can be one of the following:

  • your consent;
  • to perform a contract with you or in order to take steps prior to entering into that contract;
  • for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party); or
  • to comply with legal or regulatory obligations.

6. Personal data that we share

We may share your personal data with the following third parties for the purposes of effective service delivery: course partners such as trainers and mentors.

We will also share your personal data within our entity and related entities for the purposes of consulting, administration, accounting and reporting purposes.

8. Where your personal data will be held

Your personal data is stored on an open-source ecommerce platform’s back office which whom we have an agreement in view thereof.

9. Your rights

In accordance with the applicable laws in the European Union, you have the right of access, the right to rectification, the right to erasure, the right to restriction of processing, the right to data portability and the right to object. Please note that most of these rights are not absolute and subject to exemptions in the law, may only apply to certain types of personal data or processing. Below we set out your rights in more detail and give personal data on how you can exercise your rights. We will respond to your request within one month, but have the right to extend this period to two months. If we extend the response period, we will let you know within one month from your request.
  • Access: you are entitled to ask us if we are processing your personal data and, if we are, you can request access to your personal data (commonly known as a “data subject access request”). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it. If your request is clearly unfounded or excessive we reserve the right to charge a reasonable fee or refuse to comply in such circumstances.
  • Correction: you are entitled to request that any incomplete or inaccurate personal data we hold about you is corrected.
  • Erasure: you are entitled to ask us to delete or remove personal data in certain circumstances. There are certain exceptions where we may refuse a request for erasure, for example, where the personal data is required for compliance with law or in connection with claims.
  • Restriction: you are entitled to ask us to suspend the processing of certain of your personal data about you, for example if you want us to establish its accuracy or the reason for processing it.
  • Transfer: you may request the transfer of certain of your personal data to another party. You have the right to ask that we provide your personal data in an easily readable format to another company.
  • Objection: where we are processing your personal data based on a legitimate interest (or those of a third party), you may object to processing on this ground. However, we may be entitled to continue processing your personal data based on our legitimate interests.

In the limited circumstances where you may have provided your consent to the collection and processing of your personal data for a specific purpose, you have the right to withdraw your consent for that specific processing at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

10. Right to lodge a complaint

You also have a right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State in the European Union where you are habitually resident, where you work or where an alleged infringement of Data Protection law has taken place. 11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy will be changed from time to time.
